Speaker: Debbie Dutton, Calligrapher/Artist
October 16, 2018, 5:45pm
Archway Gallery
2305 Dunlavy St.

Debbie Dutton makes magic with paper and pens. And such magic! Join us at our next meeting to marvel at the creativity of this artist. With a love of design, Debbie is a calligrapher, book artist, and paper artist. Her mediums change, but are always tactile. Receiving a birthday card from her is a present in itself. Personally created with beautiful lettering, her works always have a very unique Debbie quality with color and design. And what she does with old books and old book pages - amazing! An instructor as well, Debbie teaches at the Houston Calligraphy Guild, the Houston Book Arts Guild, and in her home studio. In the summer, she goes to Maine to teach a variety of book arts classes. Debbie has a calligraphic piece of art in the Rare Books Collection at the M.D. Anderson Library at the University of Houston. Teaching art to women rescued from sex trafficking in India and Nicaragua is a particular interest and inspiration for Debbie. We hope you can join us to hear a presentation from this versatile and dynamic artist and instructor.
